Amir Khan Triumphs over Malignaggi

Reigning Junior Welterweight Champion Amir Khan posted a win over former champion Paulie Malignaggi in the 11th round to the delight of fans in New York.

Khan relied heavily on his speed, agility and powerful right hand, o smother the hometown favorite. Malignaggi’s absorbed too much pounding from the former British Olympian, as his face became crimson and swollen in the middle rounds of the bout, and before the 11th round even decided to disregard the warnings of ring side doctor to concede the fight.

Khan sensing blood and impending victory, forced Malignaggi against the ropes and unleash series of punches that prompted the referee Steve Stomger to finally put into halt the bout in favor of Khan with 1:25 minute left on the 11th round. Khan improves his record to 23 wins and one loss with 17 knockouts while Malignaggi dropped to 27-4.

Malignaggi accept graciously the defeat, as he tapped his chess and congratulates his tormentor for his well-deserve victory.

Pacquiao vs Clottey, not Pacquiao vs Mayweather



The megafight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. was averted no thanks to the bogged down negotiations between the two camp. Mayweathers’ insistence of an Olympic Doping Test on the Filipino ring icon was too much to ask for and instead of inking a multi-million deal he will just be facing a lawsuit filed from Pacquiao.
