Miami – Golf ace Tiger Woods endured facial cuts and bruises when he crash his 2009 Cadillac SUV outside his opulent Florida home.
Woods was treated and released from hospital the same day, following the single-vehicle smash in which he collided with a fire hydrant and then crash into a nearby tree.
“Tiger Woods was in a minor car accident outside his home last night. He was admitted, treated and released today in good condition,” remarked the Florida Health Center Hospital said in a statement.
The same statement is issued by the fancied golfer on his website and added “We appreciate very much everyone’s thoughts and well wishes.”
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said the 33-year-old Woods crashed into the hydrant while leaving his property early Friday in the Windermere community, a suburb of Orlando.
The FHP had remarked earlier Woods was carried to the hospital in “serious condition.” Florida Highway Patrol Spokesman Mark Welch said the confusion may have come from the initial police report “Our criteria for serious injuries might be different from that of a hospital,” Welch said to AFP.
Woods was outside of the vehicle with his wife next to him when the police arrived. Woods was in a semi-conscious state, and inflicted with cuts to both his upper and lower lip. Wood’s wife heard the crash and then utilized a golf club to break the car’s window to help her husband.

beleaguered and controversial Tiger Woods, but his compatriot Phil Mickelson who fashioned out an emotional and hard fought win.
Mickelson submitted a remarkable 5-under pat 67 to cap his performance on 16-under 272, edging out second placer Lee Westwood by just three strokes.
The sweet victory was indeed dramatic since Mickelson’s wife Amy is fighting her breast cancer for almost a year now.
“It has been an emotional year,” quipped Mickelson, and added, “I’m very proud of the fight and struggle she has been through. It has been very difficult and very emotional. To be on the other end and feel the jubilation is incredible.”
Woods who was in a hiatus for several months after his wife exposed him of his extra-marital affairs with twelve women finished tied for fourth with South Korean K.J. Choi on 277 after firing a final round 3-under par 69. The two golfers was just a stroke behind third placer Anthony Kim of US.
With this stirring triumph Mickelson increase his Masters title to three and his major titles to four. Mickelson climbed to a share of fourth on the All-Time Masters win list, four short of legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus and just one away of Woods and Arnold Palmer.
This year’s edition of the Augusta will go down as one of the most emotional championships, as Mickelson was seen embracing his beloved wife.
