RP Football Team Scored a Shocking Win Over Brazil in Deloitte Street Child World Cup
A country where basketball is revered but doesn’t have any fondness for football scored a breakthrough of sorts as the RP booters which is composed of street children and dubbed as a “Miracle Team,” finally lived up to its billing as they walloped Brazil, which is a powerhouse in world football in the Deloitte Street Child World Cup in Durham, South Africa.
The Philippine young football team performed a native dance, “Tinikling” (dynamic and energetic bamboo dance), bucked its two losses to United Kingdom (2-4) and Tanzania (0-2), by finding their well synchronized offensive plays as they vaulted to a huge 4-1 lead after halftime and scoring two more to seal the win, Filipinos first ever win against Brazil in a football which is ranked number 2 in the world.
The Philippines will next tackle Ukraine with the victorious team battling the winner of the other World Shield Cup between host South Africa and Brazil. Despite the breakthrough win of the gritty Filipinos they are bunched in the consolation pool, that is the, World Shield Cup. While the other four teams which finished first and second in Group A and B are still in the hunt for the main title.
